LADIES SPITOON (PROBABLY FROM A CRUISE SHIP)

Most of us don't realize that tobacco was also popular with the Ladies in the early days. Also many cuspidors have been observed decorated in the same manner as fine dining china and made by the same companies. Perhaps it was a desire by the Women to give a "refined" look to a guest bedroom. Whatever the reason, there are some beautiful examples, although they are not plentiful. This is one such piece, in perfect unchipped condition. There are some marks on the bottom and a makers impression, but unfortunately I do not know what they represent. If interested I will gladly send a digital photo.

A very scarce and sought after scene by collectors.
